Ground Floor Sitting Room & Breakfast

All of our doors, windows, beds and tables are handmade of native wood. Each room has a private entrance, ceiling fan and air conditioner. Our beds are new, very comfortable and are covered with a mattress pad and high-quality linens. Your linens are changed twice per week in order to preserve our natural resources. You will enjoy a beautiful view and fresh breeze through your oversize, screened windows. Each room has a private bathroom with a hot-water shower. The price quoted per room includes up to 2 guests; each additional guess is charged $60 per night.

You will be served a complete, freshly cooked breakfast each morning, prepared in our own kitchen. Bottled water is provided free of charge. There are many restaurants within a 2-10 minute walk, or a $2 taxi ride.

Each room is supplied with shampoo and soap and has a hairdryer and beach towels.  Unfortunately, if your Galapagos stay requires a TV or swimming pool, we do not provide those.

Besides offering one of the most expansive views on the island, Casa Iguana Mar y Sol is only 100 meters from the water’s edge. We are only a 5-minute walk to the center of town. Please relax on the Terrace Floor and walk around the balcony for numerous views. A wet suit/swimsuit/towel drying rack is available beside the house for your use.

We provide free Star Link Wi-Fi access from within our first-floor sitting area (although service is often slow and interrupted on our island) and internet cafes are within walking distance. Access to banking and ATM facilities is also within a 5-minute walking distance.

Smoking is permitted only on the Terrace Floor. We are child-friendly however our outside spiral staircase and abundant lava rock will require careful and constant parental monitoring. When Patricia is in-house, fluent English and Spanish are spoken. If Luis is in attendance, only Spanish is spoken.

Local tour agencies are available to organize activities for you. We recommend visitor sights such as Leon Dormido, El Junco, La Galapaquera, Puerto Chino, La Loberia, Cerro Tijeretas, Espanola, Isla Lobos and the Interpretation Center. Taxi service is easily available (usually in the form of a double-cab pick-up truck for $2 per ride within town). Surfing and rental of surfboards, snorkel gear, bicycle, kayak rental is available within a 1-5 minute walk.
